Marleen PugachWelcome to the website of Dr. Marleen C. Pugach, Professor Emerita in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I spent 26 years in Milwaukee preparing teachers for urban elementary and middle schools, and teaching qualitative research methods to PhD students there. At the end of 2011 I moved (back) to the Los Angeles area and spent three years teaching PhD and EdD students in the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California, where I taught required courses in qualitative research methods, diversity, and the pedagogy of teacher education.

I now reside in Culver City, California, the Southern California community where I began my career in education as an elementary special education teacher in the public schools here. I continue to work in the field of teacher education as a national and international consultant on teacher education for inclusion, expanding our notions of diversity, and drawing intersectional and more nuanced relationships among disability, social justice, and multicultural education in the service of reforming and rethinking the preparation of teachers for their work in today’s schools.
