Dr. Tiger’s Research Philosophy

The goal of my research is to understand the behavioral and learning challenges exhibited by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and to evaluate educational and clinical interventions to remediate these challenges. Within that broad framework, I attempt to help students explore and develop their own research interests. As such, much of the research that has come out of my lab has been student directed. These projects have included

  • Procedural fidelity in function-based interventions.
  • Delay tolerance following functional communication training.
  • Studies of the role of choice-making opportunities as an independent variable.
  • Methodological evaluations of continuous and discontinuous measurement.
  • Teacher, staff, and caregiver training
