Welcome!

The Intimate Relationships lab has two main areas of focus: (1) research on risk factors for, and consequences of, intimate partner violence (IPV) and sexual assault and (2) research on substance use disorders and treatment. We also focus on integrating these two lines of research to examine substance-related IPV and whether treatment of substance use reduces the occurrence of IPV and sexual assault. Dr. Ryan Shorey is the principal investigator of the SURF lab. Explore the website to discover more about current studies, recent publications, and current SURF lab members!
