Research in the Lab is focused on sensing in unique structures and systems. This endeavor requires the design and modification of new and existing sensing systems. Applications range from water treatment to aerospace structures. The lab specializes in using piezoelectric actuators and sensors, especially in ultrasonic applications, although other sensing systems have been developed. A significant challenge in this work is interpreting the sensor signals acquired.
